DISCLOSURE

Braun occasionally sends sample promotional products to individuals.  In compliance with the FTC, the Braun Resource Center has provided a series of guidelines to help content creators disclose when they’ve been given a promotional incentive to write about a Braun product or service. In general, these guidelines exist so that the reader knows when there is a commercial relationship between the text and publisher.

The following examples provide several disclosure options for individuals given Braun products and samples:

Blog posts

Use phrases like "sponsored post" in the subject of a post. (Sample:
http://dadomatic.com/sponsored-post-kmart-holiday-shopping-dad-style/)

Use phrases like this somewhere in the paragraph text:
“Today’s post is sponsored by Braun. I was given ____ (name of product) to test…″
“I would like to thank Braun for giving me ____ (name of product)…”
Braun is a sponsor of this blog. Check out their site here: (link to website or product page)

Twitter

In tweets, put "sponsored tweet" or #ad (sample language/hashtags here: http://sponsoredtweets.com/ethics/disclosure-engine/)

Video
In video content (if possible) bloggers should put an icon displaying "sponsored video" or "sponsored post."

Audio
In audio content, blogger/host should state something to the effect of, "Today's show is sponsored by Braun.  I was given...." etc.
